AFSCME 3800 Supports Occupy Minnesota

AFSCME supports the Occupy Wall Street movement that has swept the nation and we stand in solidarity with those protesting Wall Street’s greed. The reckless pursuit of profits for the bankers and super-rich at the expense of working people must come to an end. It’s time for regular people – the 99 percent – to take back control and put people before profits.  Local 3800 submitted a resolution in support of the protests to the statewide AFSCME Council 5 Convention held in Duluth on October 6-7. Delegates representing 43,000 workers statewide voted unanimously in favor of the resolution, which can be read here. The resolution calls on AFSCME members, their friends and families and all other supporters of social and economic justice to join those protesting against financial greed and manipulation at the Government Plaza in Minneapolis.

Join AFSCME 3800 and hundreds of union and community members this Friday afternoon as Minnesota takes on the banks and celebrates a week of occupation by the 99%.
